Economy Oval Picture Frames are a popular alternative to our Specialty Oval Frame selections.  Don't let the word "economy" mislead you - these Economy Oval Frames are not cheap imitations, they are high quality picture frames, some with gold and silver finishes metal leafed onto the frames.  These frames offer an attractive way to frame old family photos, giving them a distinctive look that will be enjoyed for years to come.  The selections work particularly well for portraits, often used for old black & white or sepia toned photographs.  If preserving treasures with a sense of nostalgia is the goal, then oval frames are one way to go.  There are many different styles to choose from, and selecting the best frame depends on the subject being framed.

Glass, backing, and oval mats are also available at an additional charge.  To accent an oval frame, you can choose the type of the cover you prefer, from a clear or non-glare flat pane, or convex (bubble) glass, in clear glass, clear acrylic, or anti-reflective glass or acrylic.  To protect artwork from sunlight fading, UV glass or acrylic is also available.

It is important to know the total thickness of the artwork, mounting board, mats and glass or acrylic to be framed.  If the total thickness of the materials is less than the rabbet depth of the frame, then the artwork will fit inside the frame perfectly.  The rabbet depth is the recess on the back inside edge of the frame into which the artwork, mounting board, mats and glass fits.
