From cradle to college, there are many opportunities to show your children you love them by framing their artworks, personal achievement awards, and diplomas.  After seeing an exhibition of children's art, Picasso once said "when I was a child I could draw like Raphael, but it took me many years to learn how to draw like a child."  Seems the value of children's art was known to the Masters as well.

We often realize how much we treasure our children's works when they've grown up.  Why not show them now?  "One of the best ways to show your kids how much you love them and how proud you are of their accomplishments is to frame their art - really frame it," says Kim Ahern, executive director of The Art & Framing Council, a non-profit organization.  "Take it to your local custom picture framer, choose the perfect mat board and moulding, frame it to preserve it and enjoy it forever, and hang it up at home."  The Art & Framing Council suggests that nothing makes a child feel more important than a framed collage of his or her achievements hung proudly in the home.

• For Cub Scouts, frame badges, ribbons, and photo of scout in uniform.

• Honor the ballerina in your life with a framed recital program, a bit of her costume, her ballet slippers and a photograph at the performance.

• If you've got a slugger in the house, frame ticket stubs from the big game, a souvenir program, the numbers from his uniform and a photo of him tossing the winning pitch.

Most of all, framing children's art keeps childhood memories safe from the wear and tear of time.  And while your children are still small, they know that you cared enough to treat their work seriously and display it with pride.
